Pak Taliban takes responsibility for Lahore terror attacksLahore, Oct. 15 : The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks on Lahore on Thursday morning.

Armed gunmen launched a series of commando style assaults, similar to the GHQ attack in Rawalpindi last Saturday, on four security installations across Lahore within a span of two hours.

While senior security officials confirmed the end of attack at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) building, an intense gun battle was still on inside the Elite Police Center, the Manawan Police Academy and the Civil Lines police station.

Security forces confirmed the death of five persons, including two terrorists, in the FIA building attack and the successful release of 20-25 hostages.

Meanwhile, both the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Rangers have been called in for counter-operations at the Manawan Police Training Academy, which has been targeted for the second time this year. Sofar, five policemen have been reported killed at this attack site.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the multiple attacks in Lahore appeared to be chained together.

"The enemy is fighting a guerilla war, however the law enforcement agencies are fully alert," Malik said, adding, "A full-fledged operation will be started shortly as Rangers have arrived in Bedian and Manawan." (ANI)
