Pak Taliban leader threatens to cancel sharia pact if demands are not met

Mingora, Mar. 25 : Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad has warned the Pakistan Government that he will suspend the Swat peace deal if the government fails to meet his demands.

Addressing a press conference in Mingora, he described the newly appointed qazis as powerless.

Muhammad warned that if government fails to fulfill its promises, the TNSM would wind up its peace camp in Swat and leave the area. The government would be responsible for the ensuing law and order problems, the daily Times quoted him, as saying.

Muhammad blamed the North West Frontier Government for not enforcing the Sharia in the Malakanad Division, including Kohistan, despite pledging to do so. The government also failed to abolish anti-Islamic laws, he added.

Meanwhile, top Swat Taliban leaders have met in the Baha area of Matta tehsil to talk about the peace deal signed by the provincial government.

Important Taliban commanders and Shura (council) members are attended the three day meeting. (ANI)
