Pak govt to continue with foolproof Presidential security to Musharraf
Rawalpindi, Aug 19 : Rehman Malik, the Adviser on Interior to Pakistan Prime Minster, has said that former Pakistan President Pervez Mushasrraf would be provided foolproof security as is provided to the country’s President.
Malik’s statement is seen in contrast to prior statements from government sources who said that extra security staff provided to Musharraf had been recalled soon after his resignation.
Around 600 security officials, including 200 policemen, used to guard the routes in Musharraf’s itinerary, the Daily Times quoted the sources as saying.
They added that troops, instead of routine security officials, guarded the route when he returned to Rawalpindi Camp Office from the president’s house after addressing the nation. (ANI)
