Pak committed to investigate Mumbai terror strikes: EnvoyNew Delhi, Jan 22 : Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik has said that Islamabad is committed to investigating the Mumbai terror strikes and wants to bring the peace process back on track.

Speaking to members of a peace mission from Pakistan at the Pakistan High Commission here, Malik said Islamabad has condemned the Mumbai terror attacks that have cast a dark shadow on Pak-India relations.

He said that the Pakistani leadership sincerely wanted to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice, adding that both countries wanted to normalise relations.

A 22-member peace caravan from Pakistan, consisting of intellectuals, human rights activists, parliamentarians, journalists, writers and peace activists, reached here on Wednesday night to meet with Indian civil society leaders, the Daily Times reported.

Welcoming members of the peace mission, Malik hoped their engagements with Indian intellectuals, elite, reporters, educationists, and leaders of other segments of Indian society would bring both countries close to each other.

Asma Jehangir, human rights activist, said on the occasion that the peace delegation from Pakistan had come to ease tensions in South Asia.

Kamla Bhasin from India said peace should be restored in South Asia. (ANI)
