Nokia, through its Ovi platform is offering free taxi trips to customers in four cities across London until the 2nd of June.

This elucidates the fact that now users in London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester can take a ride on taxis for free if they manage to track down the black cabs.

Each of them is availed free with Nokia X6 handset given to passengers so, that they can do a live-test while on their way to their destination.

However it is obvious that cab drivers will take in account of the local trip rather than going around the Britain.

But, seemingly this marketing strategy is fast catching up and adding to the fact is Ovi maps come in free with this service.

Brand manger of Nokia, Chris Jones stated: "The OVI Maps cabs will help get people from A to B, but allows them to record their own sat-nav voice packs so they can be calling the shots to the cabbie. So, if you would like to hear your girlfriend’s, boyfriend’s, son’s or grandma’s voice on your sat-nav then Own Voice for OVI Maps is just for you".
