Opel extends Insignia range with station wagon, more engine options
Frankfurt - Opel is extending the Insignia range with a station wagon version that succeeds the Vectra Caravan and has extras such as an electric rear door, a panorama roof and dirt-resistant upholstery.
In addition, Opel, which sells under the Vauxhall label in Britain, is offering two new engines for the Insignia. A fifth petrol engine will be available and has an output of 132 kW/180 hp. Acceleration is listed at 8.9 seconds from zero to 100 km/h. Consumption is put at 7.7 litres with carbon dioxide emissions at 181 grammes per kilometre.
Customers can also choose an additional diesel that will initially only be available on the four-wheel drive. It has an output of 140 kW/190 hp. Acceleration is 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 228 km/h, a consumption of 6.2 litres and emission listed at 164 g/km.
Opel is also planning an Ecotec diesel version with emission under 140 g/km with an output of 118 kW/160 hp for later in the year. (dpa)
