ONGC Q1 net dips 27%Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), the country's largest public sector undertaking, has registered a dip of 27% in its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The oil and natural gas explorer has posted a net profit of Rs 4,847.92 crore, against Rs 6,636.33 crore in the first quarter of last fiscal.

Further, the company also witnessed a fall of 25% in its total income, which dropped to Rs 15,924.08 crore during the latest quarter from Rs 21,102.22 crore in the corresponding period of FY'09.

The company's net sales from operations during the June quarter of FY'10, has also dipped to Rs 14,879.27 crore from Rs 20,052 crore, down 25.8 per cent.

The scrip today closed the day at Rs 1093 on BSE. The counter has made 52-week-high and low of Rs 1219 and Rs 538 respectively.
