One-eyed hate cleric Abu Hamza bemoans lack of tree-view in Belmarsh jail!
London, June 10 : Radical Islamic preacher Abu Hamza, serving his seven-year sentence in Belmarsh jail in South London, has alleged that he is being meted out inhuman treatment inside the jail, as he even cannot see the sky or the trees.
The hook-handed one-eyed Muslim cleric said he hasn’t seen a tree for the past four years while being in jail. He alleges: “There is no fair trial for a Muslim taken to court for religious views and activities.”
Belmarsh jail is a home to dozens of radical Islamic prisoners.
Put behind bars since 2004 for inciting terror and murder with his hate-filled sermons, the cleric astonishingly fumes that prison bosses won't allow him to carry on preaching.
“I am a disabled Muslim under oppression. They want to disable my tongue, my mind and my will to serve my ummah. I have suffered. Most of the abuse is psychological, the deprivation of sleep, the deprivation of most of the elements of food we are used to. I have not seen even a tree for four years. I cannot even see the sky due to the mesh wires. Even our Windows computer has bars,” the Mirror quoted him as saying in an interview for rights group ‘Cageprisoners’.
After completing his sentence in Belmarsh jail, Hamza faces extradition to the US on terror charges.
Hamza, who used to preach at radical Finsbury Park mosque, also complained that limiting visits from his wife and family is “torture”. “To see all of my immediate family takes over three months,” said the father of seven.
Cageprisoners founder, former Guantanamo Bay captive Moazam Begg, said yesterday: “We are not concerned with his convictions but with the way he is treated.” (ANI)
