Oslo  - One person was killed and another injured in a shooting outside a school in the city of Tromso, northern Norway, police said Friday.

The incident involving two adults took place in a parking lot near the Slettaelva school, police told broadcaster NRK.

Broadcaster TV2 reported that a woman had been killed while a man had been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The school principal said the pupils were unharmed and were to be briefed about the incident when more details had emerged. (dpa)
