Obama & McCain Together In War Against Cancer
The two conflicting U.S. presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama have
the same opinion on cancer. According to both of them, there is a need for research and they also insured that the fatal disease will be a priority for them always.

Obama said, “I know what it does to families, I know what it does to people.”
McCain has survived multiple skin cancers that can be fatal and Obama lost his grandfather and his mother due to cancer.
The president of Susan G. Komen, Hala Moddelmog said, “We are pleased to see that both candidates acknowledge the importance of stepping up the fight against cancer, a disease that claims more than a half million lives and costs us more than $219 billion in medical costs and lost productivity each year.”
According to Moddelmog, as the funding for cancer research has been decreasing for six years, very few research grants are awarded and programs are scaled back. But Obama and McCain have different plans. Both of them want to enlarge research funding for public and government cancer organizations.
During a telethon to fight cancer, McCain said in a video statement, “This is a fight we must and will win as a nation”. Obama said about his mother that it was painful period of my life, when she was diagnosed in February and was gone by November. She has ovarian cancer and she had to quarrel with her insurance company during her disease.
McCain said, the war against cancer will continue everyday.
