Obama to Iran: release the hikers
U.S. president Obama yesterday called on Iran and has demanded them to release the three U.S. hikers, who have spent the last year in prison for crossing over the border while hiking in northern Iraq.
In contrast, Iran has claimed that the three are not hikers, but spies for the government of United States; on which Obama said that they have never worked for the government of United States and are devoid of any such activities.
The families of three hikers, Josh Fattal, Shane Bauer and Sarah Shourd, respectively, were joined by about 75 supporters outside the Iranian mission to the U.N., and have demanded their release.
Also the state secretary Hillary Clinton has called Iran to do “the right thing” and allow these Americans to return home and reunite with their families.
According to the analysts of the country, “Its deplorable that the hikers have to suffer for the other people’s actions” and believe that international intervention could aid the release process by keeping the hikers story alive in media and help them get released.
