London, Dec 2: Now public conveniences are just a text message away.

A mobile phone service has launched a technology that guides people to the nearest public loo.

The “Sat Lav” technology directs, that anyone who texts the word “toilet” to 80097 will be told where the closest convenience is, reports The Sun.

People will receive a quick reply detailing the nearest facilities and their opening times.

London’s Westminster Council, which is behind the scheme revealed that the breakthrough was expected to make “a substantial impact on reducing street urination”.

Texting “toilet” to 80097 will cost 25p, with the council paying a further 9p to cover costs.

The service will cover 8.5 square miles of the capital area that attracts a million people a day.

The service is the brainchild of student Gail Knight, 26, from Clapham Junction, South West London. (ANI)
