Now Access Twitter through Yahoo websites
After a deal with Facebook, Yahoo announced a similar deal to put Twitter feeds on Yahoo homepages in a broad content-sharing agreement. In an attempt to win back 'netizens', Yahoo entered into a deal with popular social network Twitter to share content across both properties.
Following this deal, one would be able to access his/her real-time public Twitter feeds across Yahoo's homepage, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports and other Yahoo sites. The partnership, which will be rolled out later this year, will enable users to use materials from both sites without having to leave either one.
Yahoo reached a deal with Facebook last December that allows the social-networking site's users to view and send updates from Yahoo sister sites or upload photos from Flickr on Facebook.
"We are focusing on making Yahoo where you can stay in touch with people and information in one place," said Jim Stoneham, VP of communities for Yahoo. The move reflects Yahoo's desperate attempt to tap the ever-growing business of social networking.
Yahoo missed the golden opportunity when Facebook rejected its $1 billion takeover offer.
