Government to host international travel mart in Guwahati New Delhi, Jan 11 : The Union Tourism Ministry will organise an international tourism mart at Guwahati from January 18 to 20.

Announcing this, Tourism Minister K. Chiranjeevi has said that this will not only be the first ever international tourism event to be organised in the north-eastern region, but also the first international tourism mart to focus on a specific region of India.

He said: "It will bring together the tourism business fraternity and entrepreneurs from the eight north eastern States of India and West Bengal."

56 killed in twin blasts in Pakistan's QuettaIslamabad, Jan 11 - At least 56 people, including a journalist and a senior police official, were killed and over 160 injured as two back-to-back bomb blasts hit Pakistan's Quetta city Thursday evening, Geo News reported.

Twelve people were killed in the city in an earlier blast.

There was a suicide attack at Rehmattullah Chowk late Thursday, followed by another blast in the nearby Airport road area minutes later, said police.

"The second bomb went off by the time rescue, media and law enforcement officials reached the spot," said sources.
