Jaipur, Sep 9 : Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL), one of the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturers, Monday commenced construction of its Rs. 450 crore centre of global innovation and research & design (R&D)' at Kukas near here.

Hero MotoCorp managing director and CEO Pawan Munjal laid the foundation stone of the centre here in the presence of the company's global technology partners -Erik Buell of Erik Buell Racing (EBR), US; Alberto Strazzari of Engines Engineering, Italy and Markus Feichtner of AVL, Austria.

Islamabad, Sep 9 : Former Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari has vowed to revive his political career a few hours after formally stepping down from the presidency when his constitutionally-mandated five-year term ended Sunday.

Zardari spoke to thousands of his supporters in the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in the eastern city of Lahore to formally resume political activities, Xinhua reported.

Lahore is the stronghold of his political rival, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).

London, Sep 9 : US Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday there is no military solution to the conflict in Syria, but backed an "unbelievably small, limited kind" of attack to desist Syria from using chemical weapons.

"Let me be clear. The United States of America, President Obama, myself and others are in full agreement that the end of the conflict in Syria requires a political solution. There is no military solution. We have no illusions about that," Xinhua quoted Kerry as saying at a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary William Hague.

London, Sep 9 : Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron courted controversy after he briefly left his official ministerial red box unattended on the table of a train carriage.

Cameron moved away from his table, leaving the red box behind with the key still in it and with no security cover, the Daily Mirror reported Monday.

A fellow passenger on the train took a photograph of the red box which was published by the newspaper.
