Lima (Peru), June 18 : Archaeologists at the National Institute of Culture (INC) have found a pre-Inca tomb in the Salapunku archaeological site, located inside the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park in Cusco, southeastern Peru.

Resident archaeologist Francisco Huaycaya Quispe said that these remains would belong to a woman from the Quillke culture, an indigenous which flourished before the Inca Empire.

According to the archaeologist, this hypothesis is based on the pottery and ruminant and poultry bones found at the site.

Washington, June 18 : In a new research, a team of scientists has suggested that humans most likely share a common ancestor with orangutans, not chimpanzees and gorillas.

The research, done by scientists from the University of Pittsburgh and the Buffalo Museum of Science, reject as "problematic" the popular suggestion, based on DNA analysis, that humans are most closely related to chimpanzees, which they maintain is not supported by fossil evidence.

Paris, June 18 : Multiple fractures on the bodies of victims of the Air France disaster suggest the plane broke up in the mid-air, post mortem results have revealed.

In the latest sign that Flight 447 was no longer intact when it plunged into the Atlantic, medical examiners said the bodies had multiple fractures of legs, hips and arms. According to The Telegraph, such injuries could mean the plane broke apart in air.

The paper quoted forensic experts as saying that bodies and debris would be severely fragmented if the jet crashed intact.

The 19-year-old, who sparked a female frenzy in the West End and Broadway stagings of the play Equus in which he appeared naked, said he scared the fairer sex away once he opened his mouth.

Washington, June 18 : Previous research has suggested that playing violent videogames is linked to aggressive behaviour in kids. Now, three new studies have concluded that the other side of the coin also holds true: playing prosocial video games promote friendly behaviour.

Prosocial video games involve characters that help and support each other in non-violent ways.

Three separate studies conducted in Singapore, Japan, and the United States found that playing peaceful, cooperative games can make children kinder and more likely to help other people.
