Berlin  - In a first move to reduce its order for Eurofighter air-force combat planes, Germany is altering the approvals process for its third batch of the jets, a Finance Ministry document obtained Tuesday by the German Press Agency dpa showed.

The type, which is already in service with the German, Italian, British and other air forces, is built by a consortium including the Franco-German company EADS, Alenia Aeronautica of Italy and BAE Systems of Britain.

Kathmandu, June 9 : Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood said on Tuesday that a joint committee is working towards finalisation of a boundary map between India and Nepal to resolve the border issue that has long been in contention.

"The technical-level committee is working towards finalisation of the map," Rakesh Sood said.

The joint committee, headed by Surveyor General of India and Director General of Nepal''s Department of Survey, has been working in a coordinated manner towards demarcating and managing the border.

New Delhi, June 9 : Veteran BJP leader L K Advani on Tuesday asked the party's 58 first-time MPs to maintain purity in their conduct and cautioned them against falling to any temptation.

Advani was addressing the BJP parliamentary party meet in New Delhi.

The caution note comes, as the party does not want to commit any mistake as its former leaders made.

Earlier, former party leader Bangaru Lakshman and Dilip Singh Judeo were caught on camera accepting bribes.

Kabul  - One Afghan schoolchild was killed and three US soldiers and 49 Afghan civilians were wounded Tuesday in a blast near a US military convoy in eastern Afghanistan, officials said.

A team of US military soldiers were helping to tow a disabled military vehicle in Assadabad city, the provincial capital of the eastern province of Kunar Tuesday morning when they came under small arms fire, Brain Naranjo, a US military spokesman, told the German Press Agency dpa.
