Oregon lawmakers seek to ratify decision to de-list gray wolves from endangered group

Two Republican state lawmakers have been attempting to stop a lawsuit environmental groups have filed over a decision to remove the gray wolf from Endangered Species Act list in Oregon. Sen. Bill Hansell and Rep. Greg Barreto have proposed to approve the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission's November decision of de-listing the wolves.

At present, Oregon has eighty-one wolves. State biologists have urged to strip them of the endangered status. They said that the species is no longer face extinction threat in a substantial part of its Oregon range.

However, a number of independent scientists don’t agree with them. The research has shown that Oregon may support nearly 1,450 wolves. Presently, the animals exist on only 12 % of its potential habitat.

A spaceflight company Virgin Galactic and Adidas‘ label Y-3 have collaborated to design a new comfortable suit for space.

Virgin Galactic is a private spaceflight company that belongs to Richard Branson’s Virgin Group. It has been focusing on bringing space tourism to consumers. The company is creating the prototypes of the new spacewear that will be used by pilots. A much admired Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto will also join the partnership.

The company mentioned that it has used materials like Nomex for creating the prototypes. This type of material is made up of strong, heat-resistant synthetic fibers, and is alike Kelvar, which is used in the creation of bullet-proof vests, however it is also more flexible.

Elon Musk has come across a new challenge from a beginner having a reusable spacecraft after the US space agency NASA divided a cargo deal worth as much as $14 billion between his SpaceX venture, Orbital ATK Inc. and budding Sierra Nevada Corp.

Most Luminous Galaxy on the Verge of Splitting

The brightest ever galaxy known to the astronomers is likely to be on the verge of ripping itself apart. The galaxy, named W2246-0526, is located around 12.4 billion light-years away from Earth. The galaxy is experiencing so much of turmoil that it has raised the possibility of W2246-0526 emitting its complete gas supply that is required for the formation of stars.

The phenomenon has been detected by the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) technology. It is established in the Atacama desert of Chile and is the most advanced technology known for studying the space.

Nine days after heart-transplant operation, Oscar Munoz leaves hospital

On Friday, more than a week after a surprise heart-transplant operation, United Continental Holdings Inc.’s chief executive, Oscar Munoz, said that his recovery is going on well and was leaving the hospital to return to home in Chicago.

In the company-released letter, Mr. Munoz told employees that he was feeling as strong as ever. He mentioned that he would be heading back towards his work all fit and fine, very soon.

Mr. Munoz, who turned 57 years old recently, suffered a heart attack in October, only 42 days after taking the top job at the country’s No. 3 carrier by traffic. In the interim, former general counsel Brett Hart, who is acting CEO, led the Chicago-based United.

A latest nutrition study has suggested that biochemicals present in berries, citrus fruit and red wine could help men sustain healthy erections. On January 13, researchers reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that foods rich in these flavonoids are linked to reduced risk of erectile dysfunction.

Researchers from Harvard University's TH Chan School of Public Health and the University of East Anglia in England reported that consumption of a flavonoid-rich diet could be as good for erectile function as a brisk walk for two to five hours per week.
