A study carried out by the American Psychological Association (APA) has revealed that Americans who face discrimination due to factors like race, age, gender, disability, and sexual identity have more chances of reporting higher stress levels. Money and work figure are main causes of stress but the most affected ones are the non-White people.

As per the APA’s annual Stress in America survey, money is a main cause of stress for 62% of Whites; 78% of Blacks, 77% of Hispanics and 70% of Asians and Native Americans.

As a whole, 69% of American adults have faced discrimination in the cases of managers preferring younger workers or a security guard after a young black man in mall, among numerous situations.

A ban on codeine-based cough syrups of the Indian units of US-based drugmakers Pfizer and Abbott Laboratories has resulted in the shares of these companies falling by as much as 5% on Monday.

The ban was slapped by Indian authorities claiming codeine, a narcotic, posed a health risk. While Pfizer's India unit sells the product by the name Corex, Abbott does so by the brand name Phensedyl. Pfizer said it had already suspended the sale of Corex even as Abbott did not respond to a request for comment.

These syrups contain a combination of chlopheniramine maleate and codeine which, a government panel of experts said, had “no therapeutic justification.” The drugs were among 344 drug combinations banned by India over the weekend.

Sweetwater, a small rural town in Texas, has less than 11,000 residents, but thousands of tourists visit the place each year to witness an interesting event: World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup. This year’s event ended on Sunday where more than 30,000 visitors came to see thousands of rattlesnakes.

People not only watch rattlesnakes during the event, but also take part by skinning them. Many participants made handprints on a wall with the rattlesnakes’ blood. Jaycees, Sweetwater’s Junior Chamber of Commerce, said the annual roundup is a necessary way to protect humans, curb overpopulation and keep city’s other animals safe.

NASA’s record-breaking astronaut Scott Kelly is going to leave his post at the space agency at the end of March, but he will continue to help NASA scientists with research-examining effects of long-duration spaceflight on human body. Kelly revealed his departure from NASA on Friday.

Kelly returned to earth aboard Soyuz TMA-18M on March 1. He spent record 340 days on the International Space Station (ISS). In a web posting, the space station selfie king talked about his spacefaring days. He said his 143,846,525 miles aboard ISS around our globe has pushed the limits of space exploration.

The universe is indeed a big place and humanity has many miles yet to travel around, said Kelly. Leaving NASA is just a step on that journey, the 52-year-old astronaut added.

A 250-million-year-old fossil of an ancient crocodile-like reptile, Teyujagua paradoxa, was found in southern Brazil last year. Paleontologists expect that the fossil will provide information to researchers about the evolution of dinosaurs on Earth and what could have caused their extinction.

The fossil discovery was made by researchers from the Paleobiology Laboratory of the Universidade Federal do Pampa at Triassic rock in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Removing ice across a variety of surfaces could be an easy task in future with an ‘icephobic’ material developed by University of Michigan researchers. The research team claimed that the new material can help in removing ice from wind turbines, airplanes and other surfaces without damaging the surface.

To improve and simplify the process of ice removal, rubbery polymers should be used, said the University of Michigan research team. Use of rubbery polymers is more practical and useful in removing ice, they added.
