Mohali, Dec 18 : Daljit Singh, curator of pitch at Mohali Stadium, the venue of the second cricket Test between India and England, has predicted a decisive match slated to start here on December 19.

Addressing media persons here last evening, Daljit told that their organisation has always tried to make a result-oriented wickets so as to keep the charm of competitive Test cricket alive.

"We always try to make a result oriented wicket. This is our organisation''s instruction. If you want to keep the Test cricket alive, then there should always be a result-oriented wicket. If weather would be okay for all the five days, we are hopeful that there would be a result in the match," said Singh, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Pitches Committee.

Singh, a successful Ranji Trophy cricketer noted that the match would be played on the same track, which was used for the match against Australia in October.

He also said that there would be some scuffing on this wicket, as it is drier than it was in other times.

"This wicket is comparatively drier than other times, obviously if the match goes on, there will be some scuffing," added Singh.

The hosts remain on course for a second successive Test series win after a
2-0 triumph over Australia.

Meanwhile, England is hoping to avoid their second consecutive series defeat after the 2-1 home loss to South Africa.

A security cordon has been set up 500 metres around the hotel where both the teams are put up and no vehicles are allowed into the area without being thoroughly checked.

Security fears rose following last month''s attacks in Mumbai that forced the Test matches to be moved from the original venues of Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

The first Test in Chennai, which India won after a thrilling run chase, saw very high levels of security surrounding the game.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) President David Morgan is planning to travel to Mohali on Friday to show solidarity with the teams. (ANI)
