We have to think beyond security concerns, says Dhoni

Tamil NaduChennai, Dec 10 : Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni today said that the team has to think beyond security concerns.

Talking to media here ahead of the first test of the two-match series against England, he said that security people are doing their job and players need not be bothered about it.

"Well it is important as well.... That (security) is one area where cricketers as individuals and as team, we really don''t have control over because we don''t actually control our security. But one thing that''s in our hand is to be calm and compose and look into the areas like playing cricket and our preparation and about the series. And that what is important and we are looking forward to that. The amount of policeman around ... you can just say.... you can just concentrate on the cricket part. They are around to help us, so security doesn''t really bother us so much," he added.

Dhoni also said that the team is not complacent after the recent 5-0 win in the one-day match series against England and the players will be putting all their efforts to perform to their potential.

"Every series is challenging. Every series is important. It doesn''t matter whether you are playing Bangladesh or Australia. Because it is an international series it goes into your account. It goes into your record so everybody wants to give his best. Would like to win the series but you''ve got to do the basics right to achieve that," added Dhoni.

The recent militant attacks in Mumbai had prompted England to cut short their seven match one-day series and return home.

But after security experts were satisfied with the measures put in place for the two Test matches, England arrived in India on Monday.

Indian players are in top form following their 2-0 Test series victory over Australia and England will need to come up with something special to beat the hosts.

The first test match will be played from Thursday in Chennai. (ANI)
