Nivio Selected As A WEF Pioneer For 2009
The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced that Nivio has been awarded the Technology Pioneer Award for 2009.
Nivio joins an elite group of visionary companies selected for conceptions that will have a world-changing impact on society as well as businesses.
Previous Technology Pioneers Awardees, which have today turned into multi-billion dollar organizations include Google, Infosys, Mozilla Corporation and Nanosolar among others.
“Joining an elite list of Technology Pioneers is exciting because it ratifies the Nivio concept of providing everyone in the world affordable access to computing power. We have believed that computing must become as easy to use, affordable and available as Cable TV” said Duggal, “At the World Economic Forum we will be discussing with world-leaders how with the use of Nivio, the future of the world can be revolutionized.”
The two young capitalists, Sachin Duggal, the 25 year old NRI & CEO of Nivio, and Saurabh Dhoot, 24, founded Nivio whilst both were studying Engineering at Imperial College, London.
Nivio will be joining worldwide leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January 2009 to discuss ways to make the most of the penetration of computing all through the world.
“Through Nivio we hope to increase computer-penetration by making it easy, affordable and with low learning-barriers. The Nivio platform will be useful in making computing more accessible to businesses, education and overall increase access in the low computer-penetrated emerging world.”
Nivio has the potential to help provide computing access to more than 1 billion in India, and 5 billion in the world without a computer. It promotes computing freedom; liberating the users from current frustrations of data loss, obsolescence, viruses and accessibility.
