Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic Set To Take Domestic Market By Storm
The world's largest handset maker, Nokia, today unveiled its first touch screen phone at Rs 19,999 in India and also announced the launch of its 'Beta' music store. "India has 30 million music handset owners and with the launch of this new phone from the company's platform will further increase that number," said Nokia Managing Director (India) Shiv Kumar while talking to reporters in Delhi.
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is slated to hit the domestic market by December-end or early next year. The Nokia XpressMusic will feature a large 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 16 million colors. The phone is inbuilt with an accelerometer to take care of automatic screen rotation activity. The 5800 phone will operate on Nokia's S60 platform.
The phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, LED flash and video capturing. It also has a virtual QWERTY keyboard, alphanumeric keypad and a pen stylus that make text messaging very simple and convenient.
The 5800 supports an 8 GB microSD card. Nokia XpressMusic phone is built-in with Nokia Maps which would be of help in locating a destination along with a GPS server with voice navigation. The phone also has a handwriting recognition software, haptic touch technology and Mobile Transfer Protocol support.
