Dubai, Nov. 10 : India captain Jhulan Goswami has slipped off the top of the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Women’s Rankings for bowlers after a disappointing series against Australia which concluded in Canberra on Sunday.

Goswami took just one wicket in the series which Australia won by 5-0 and has consequently dropped two places to third position behind England’s Isa Guha and Shelley Nitschke of Australia.

Nitschke is one of the five Australia bowlers who are on the charge as Emma Sampson, Lisa Sthalekar, Kirsten Pike and Ellyse Perry have also made good upward movements.

Sampson, who was the leading wicket-taker in the series with eight, has jumped two places to sixth, Sthalekar has climbed four places to fifth after a series haul of 7-124, Pike rose to 11th position after improving one place and Perry has vaulted 10 places to 16th spot after claiming six wickets in the series.

While all the Australia bowlers have made significant upward movement, the only India bowler to climb the ladder was Rumeli Dhar who has lifted four places to eighth position.

Besides Goswami, other India bowlers to lose ground were Amita Shah who has dropped five places to 18th and Neetu David who has slipped six places to 20th.

In the Reliance Mobile ICC Women’s Player Rankings for ODI batters, Sthalekar has swapped places with India’s second-placed Mithali Raj to close the gap on top ranked Claire Taylor of England. Sthalekar scored 208 runs in the series while Mithali’s contribution was 138 runs.

Alex Blackwell was rewarded for her series aggregate of 255 runs when she jumped three places to fifth position.

Australia captain Karen Rolton’s eighth career century, which is most by any female cricketer, was not enough to keep her in seventh place. The 33-year-old South Australian scored 123 runs in the series and dropped one place to eighth position.

In the Reliance Mobile ICC Women’s Rankings for ODI all-rounders, Sthalekar has stayed ahead of team-mate Nitschke. (ANI)
