Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman to attend Sydney premiere of ‘Australia’
Melbourne, Nov 4 : Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman will walk the red carpet in Sydney for the world premiere of their highly anticipated epic movie ‘Australia’ on November 18.
The movie’s director Baz Luhrmann and his wife, production designer Catherine Martin, young indigenous actor Brandon Walters and other Australian celebrities will join them at the George Street Greater Union cinemas in Sydney''s CBD.
Simultaneous screenings will take place in Darwin and Bowen, in Queensland, to celebrate key shooting locations from the film.
A separate celebration of the film will be held in the fourth shooting location, Kununurra, in Western Australia''s East Kimberley region, with details to be announced shortly.
"With the huge anticipation for this film, these events will be the first chance for people to discover what promises to be Baz''s next cinematic masterpiece,'''' News. com. au quoted Marcos Oliveira, managing director of 20th Century Fox Australia, as saying.
NT Chief Minister Paul Henderson is pleased with the local screening of ‘Australia’.
"It is great that Darwin is being recognised by having an important role in the premiere of the film. Darwin and the Northern Territory play an important role in the movie which will provide a great boost for the Northern Territory tourism industry,'''' Henderson said.
The film will be released nationally on November 26. (ANI)
