93 arrested in Lanka for links with LTTE
As much as 93 people were taken into custody by Sri Lankan police for their alleged links with Tamil Tiger rebels. They were arrested in the North-West part of the island nation on Saturday, according to official sources.
The arrests came during an operation against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Kalpitiya village in Puttalam district, some 165 km from Colombo.

This was a preventive step to stop infiltration of LTTE rebels, said an official.
