Two Day VC’s Conference Begins Today
A two-day conference of Vice-Chancellors (VC’s) of technical universities in India will be held at the library auditorium of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) from October 11 to 12. The conference will be hosted by the MIT.
Dr S S Pabla, Chairman, Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Committee said, “The conference would aim at drafting a framework for the AICTE curriculum. The conference will also make an effort towards striking a consensus on a 10-point cumulative grade point average system in all the engineering colleges in the country. This is in tune with the internationally accepted practices.”
The two day conference would also discuss the industries’ complaint that rate of employability of the products of engineering colleges were very less.
Besides this, the conference also aims to study deeply the subjects like striking a balance between academicians and employees by bringing them on a single platform to improve the cirriculum, providing a stable Board of Studies for each stream, increasing basic sciences and humanities content in engineering curriculum, facilitating inter-university and inter-discipline mobility etc.
