Smoke at Japan nuclear plant but no leakage
Tokyo - A solid waste disposal facility was Friday emitting smoke at a nuclear power station in Tokai, Ibaraki province, but no radioactive leakage, injuries or environmental damage have been reported, according to the operator Japan Atomic Power Co.
The Tokai nuclear reactor, 150 kilometres north of Tokyo, was continuing to generate electric power despite the 6:35 am incident. There was no cause for the smoke given. (dpa)
