Five serial blast suspects held in Pune

Mumbai, Oct 6 : Mumbai police today picked up five alleged terror suspects from Pune in connection with the recent blasts in Ahmedabad, Delhi and other places.

Police sources said that antecedents of the five detainees are being verified.

However, senior crime branch officers refused to comment on the issue.

On October 4, a Delhi Metropolitan Court sent five suspected terrorists allegedly involved in the September 13, Delhi serial blasts to 12 days'' police custody.

Mohammed Saif, Zeeshan, Mohammed Shakeel, Zia-Ur-Rehman and Saquib Nissar were produced before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain who sent them to police custody till October 16.

On September 13, five bombs went off in less than half an hour in the national capital, which left 21 dead, and over 90 injured.

At least 16 bombs exploded in Ahmedabad on July 26 that killed at least 45 people.

This year, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and recently Tripura were hit by serial blasts. (ANI)
