Thai shares tumble 5.8 per cent on US bail-out failure
Bangkok - Thai shares lost 5.8 per cent of their value in the first minute of trading Tuesday on the news that US Congress had rejected a 700 billion dollar bail-out for the US financial system.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index crashed through the 600-point barrier in the first minute of trading, hitting 571.15, down 35.14 points or 5.8 per cent.
