Mayawati Criticizes Samajwadi Party Govt For Failing To Control Terrorism

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati has blamed the former Samajwadi Party Mayawati Criticizes Samajwadi Party Govt For Failing To Control Terrorism Government for failing to control terrorism during its rule. Due to this, the image of the Muslim community and the state has been negatively projected throughout the nation. 

While addressing a media conference on Sunday, Mayawati informed, “The entire community should not be tarred for unlawful acts of a few persons. Terrorism struck deep roots in the state during the SP reign and my government is working hard to restore the rule of law.”

She further added, “Terrorism spread in UP only due to the poor governance and leniency shown towards the criminals by the previous SP regime. The image of the state would not have been affected, had the problem been nipped in the bud by them.” 

Other than this, she criticized the SP for speaking indecently post the arrest of SIMI activist Abu Bashar.  

Mayawati expressed, “Several Samajwadi leaders like Abu Asim Azmi and Daroga Prasad Saroj, along with Imam of the Delhi Jama, Masjid Maulana Bukhari, visited Beenapara to protest against the arrest.”

“I have asked the police officers that innocent persons should not be harassed in the name of terrorism. Fake encounters should not be allowed under any circumstances,” said the BSP chief. 

The Chief Minister was shocked with the incident of serial bomb blasts in the national capital and said, “Our government is keeping a close watch on the situation. On Monday, I will hold a meeting with senior police officers to review the measures initiated to check activities of anti-nationals.” 

In order to deal with such menace, the PM asked the Centre to come out with immediate productive measures such as strengthening of police at the international borders and deliverence of special assistance to the Border States. When asked a question related to withdrawal of UP Control of Organized Crime Act, she clarified, “The government was forced to do it after the Centre refused to grant its assent to the law.” She further added, “The BSP government has spruced up the law and order under the existing legal framework”.
