Abhi-Ash To Play ‘Ram-Sita’ In Ratnam’s ‘Ramayan’
Bollywood’s most-favored jodi Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will be seen in mythical characters as ‘Sita’ and ‘Rama’ in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming flick ‘Ramayana’, which’ll have two versions – Hindi and Tamil.
After Guru, Ramayan will be the second movie where Ash and Abhi will play the characters of husband and wife.
Ratnam’s ‘Ramayan’ will have an interesting cast of actors including multi-talented actor ‘Govinda’ in the role of ‘Hanuman’, and Tamil superstar Vikram would play the character based on Ravana. Prithiviraj would play the baddie in this version.
Accoding to the sources, Mani was very eager to shoot the real life pair again as Ram and Sita. The film, to be made under Ratnam’s home production Madras Talkies, will go on the floors by the coming month (September 2008). It will be produced by Ratnam’s sister Sharda.
The updated version of ‘Ramayan’ that Ratnam is attempting is generating a lot of buzz in the industry.
Like all classic love stories including Laila Majnu, Jodha Akbar, the idea of Ratnam’s film will be the love of ‘Ram- Sita.’
