Aussie fans won't be racist during Indian team's tour Down Under: Shane Warne

Sydney, Oct.22 : Former Australian spin king Shane Warne believes cricket fans in Australia won't racially taunt Indian players this summer as revenge for the treatment meted out to all-rounder Andrew Symonds while in India.

"Australian crowds are pretty good," news.com.au quoted Warne, as saying.

Warne also believes that his luckless understudy Stuart MacGill should be the frontrunner for the summer Test series.

"He's been around for a long time and deserves his chance. I hope he does well," Warne said

He also praised Chinaman bowler Brad Hogg, who impressed in the Australian one-day matches in India, but added that the selectors needed to blood a young spinner where he could mature amongst more experienced players.

"When a team is successful you can get a young player in there with the other players who know the ropes," he said.

Warne said he has been in talks with Cricket Australia to find a way for him to help cricketers playing in the domestic competition in a mentoring role. (ANI)
