Genesis, a luxury vehicle marque of South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor Group, is set to make waves in the performance electric vehicle (EV) market with the introduction of the GV 60 Magma, which is slated for release next year. The first model in Genesis new performance-oriented Magma series, the GV 60 Magma boasts an eye-catching design and roughly 600 horsepower (hp). It aims to elevate the brand’s image and attract EV enthusiasts looking for a high-performance battery-powered luxury vehicle.

As per available information, the all-electric GV60 Magma will stay true to the concept that was previewed earlier this year at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Carrying the same name as that of the concept, it promises performance similar to Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N or Kia’s EV6 GT.

If everything goes as planned, the GV60 Magma EV will enter series production in Q3 of 2025. In South Korea, it will be become starting July of next year, while Europeans will start getting it in Q4.

Genesis also revealed that the GV60 Magma will offer an authentic, brand-exclusive sound system providing a rich, dynamic auditory experience, further boosting the excitement of every ride. Some analysts are of the view that it will receive its own type of the Ioniq 5 N EV's acceleration sounds. However, nothing can be said about the presence of fake gears that have been made available in the Ioniq 5 N.

Genesis Magma vehicles will have lower as well as stiffer suspension, enhanced braking system along with some other improvements to offers a better driving experience. In addition, the all-electric Magma models will feature an improved battery thermal management system.

When it comes to design, the GV60 Magma EV will feature bold bumpers, both at the front and rear. The list of main aero elements includes a huge rear wing and fins on the roof and a diffuser. In addition, the EV has wheel arch extensions to cover the vehicle’s larger wheels and wider track.
