Last month, the world-renowned Korean brand’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales crossed the mark of 5,000 units for the third month in a row. It reached 5,738 units, representing a year-over-year jump of 125 per cent. Battery-powered vehicles accounted for 8.7 per cent of the company’s total sales volume in the U.S. market.

Representing impressive growth in EV sales, the data includes 2,171 units of the Kia EV6, 1,905 units of the Kia EV9 and 1,662 units of the Niro EV. While sales of the Kia EV6 grew 49 per cent year-over-year, the Niro EV sales jumped 52 per cent. The Kia EV9 is a new model.
