Idea launches 4G services in Assam
New Delhi [India], Apr. 1 : Telecom operator Idea Cellular on Friday launched its 4G services in Assam circle, starting with five towns, namely Jorhat, Tezpur, Nagaon, Bongaigaon and Lumding, and is looking to further expand 4G network to cover 13 towns including Guwahati, by April 2017.
Idea also unveiled Digital Idea, a suite of digital applications for consumers in Assam. As part of the Digital Idea offerings, the company will offer a suite of three entertainment apps - Idea Music Lounge, Idea Movie Club and Idea Game Spark for its 13 lakh customers in Assam.
"Idea has consistently invested in network expansion to become a pan-India wireless broadband operator, readying our 200 million customers for the Digital era. Over the last one year, Idea has more than doubled its mobile broadband network on 4G/3G platform, and now covers over 50 percent of India's population," said Anish Roy, COO - Corporate, Idea Cellular.
Idea's mobile broadband data services are currently available to nearly 500 million Indians across nearly 100,000 towns and villages.
Idea has introduced an array of offers including tariff packs, bundled smartphone offers and digital content for its users in Assam. From 1GB 4G offer at Rs.53 to handset bonanza offers and smartphone deals, Idea offers a range of products for all categories of users.
Idea Music Lounge, Idea Movie Club, and Idea Game Spark offer a complete suite of digital entertainment services and mark Idea's entry into the world of digital services.
Idea is further offering an exclusive introductory offer to all Idea 4G/3G customers giving them 90 days worth of free subscription to all the three apps till April 30, 2017. (ANI)
