Earlier, a lawsuit was filed against Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company. The lawsuit claimed the actress’ consumer goods company’s products are ineffective. Now, Alba has hit back saying the claims are baseless and without merit.

The Honest Company found in 2011 has been accused of developing ineffective product. The lawsuit also claimed that the company’s products are being marketed as nontoxic which is not right as they contain a number of unnatural ingredients.

On Friday, Alba spoke against the class action though a statement, and said, “We strongly stand behind our products and the responsibility we have to our consumers. We are steadfast in our commitment to transparency and openness”.

The class action was filed against Alba’s company, which makes non-toxic household products and baby products, on Thursday. John D. Rubin said The Honest Company claimed to supply product made up of natural ingredients, but in reality, they contain unnatural ingredients. Some of the company’s products are ineffective, Rubin added. He summed up allegations by saying that The Honest Company is not honest.

Rubin has been asking for compensation as he claimed that a number of customers were paying over and above the cost for the company’s product. According to statement given by the company and Alba, the company is following ‘Honest’ policy. The company labels every ingredient not because it has to, but because consumers deserve to know what's in their products.
