Avril Lavigne Opens Up About Her Battle with Lyme disease

Famous Canadian-French singer and songwriter Avril Lavigne has been quite frank in discussing about her struggle with Lyme disease. The signer recently even opened up more about her illness during an interview with ABC News.

Avril during the interview criticized doctors who didn’t take her health problem seriously. She said she was visiting every specialist and top doctors. But what every doctor told her was she had ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome’.

Doctors asked Avril why she tries to get out of bed and play some piano or outdoors. She said these doctors actually do not have any idea about the disease.

Lavigne, who was bedridden for multiple months but is about halfway through her treatment now, says she is doing much better. She got infected with the disease last October.

She said, “I think for me it’s like a second shot at life. I want to go out there and truly do what I love, so I’m excited for life after this”.

The 30-year-old singer also shared the difficulties she suffered when trying to get a diagnosis. Speaking directly to those currently suffering from the disease, Avril said there is still hope.

Lyme disease does exist and one can surely get better. She said she now wants to go out and truly do what she loves doing. So she said she is very excited for life after this.

Recently she also revealed that she is very keen to make a Christmas album. She said she is really clear on what she want in life. She said she always wanted to make a Christmas album, but she never had the time.

She said this time she is full of enthusiasm and she feels like just going for it. Because that's something she really wants to do, she said.
