Texas Teen with Down syndrome gets his First Job

A 19-year-old boy with Down syndrome from Texas received an acceptance letter for his first job at Embassy Suites.

Ben Sunderman shouted to his parents "I get it! I get a job!" while fist pumped the air. His parents actually recorded him opening his letter and captured the priceless moments that followed.

The teen has been watching his letterbox for days in order to find out if he'd been accepted for an internship at an Embassy Suites hotel.

After reportedly watching the mailbox for several days, the letter he'd been waiting for arrived. He applied for the job through a program called Project Search.

The program provides work experience to help transition students with learning disabilities from school to adult life. Through the program, Ben will be employed with Embassy Suites in Frisco, TX.

Not only will he be working for the hotel, but he'll also be traveling alone from McKinney to Frisco to work starting in August.

His father Scott Sunderman said, "He figured it out at the end. But there was this little delay. He puts the letter down and goes crazy".

Embassy Suites offered positions to 12 students with special needs to help them gain valuable skills in a workplace environment.

His reaction after getting the letter, filmed by his parents has been shared by his father on April 11. The heartwarming video has gone viral with over 100,000 views.
