Aliens: Colonial Marines will not include playable female characters, producer
The newest version of the popular Alien game called, Aliens: Colonial Marines is now likely to feature any playable female character, according to a producer of the upcoming game, Brian Burleson.
The exclusion of female characters from the new game from Sega has disappointed some fans. The game developers appear not to be concerned about creating the game based on the true film franchise, which included various important female characters.
Disappointed gamers and other are now gathering support behind an online petition to convince Sega to include a strong, playable woman character in the game before its release. The petition was floated with the aim of gathering just 1000 signatures and it has already received the support of more than 2000 fans.
"While we fully support Gearbox, we would like to request the inclusion of playable females. The Aliens franchise is dominated by strong females such as Ripley, Vasquez, Ferro, Dietrich and most importantly, The Queen," the petition says.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to be released on February 12, 2013 and gamers want to game to feature a female character as well at the time of its launch, keeping it in-line with the "Aliens" legacy.
