Acer unveils a host of Windows 8 devices at Computex 2012Acer has showcased a host of devices powered by Windows 8, Microsoft's next operating system that is expected to launch in the coming months, at the ongoing Computex 2012 trade conference in Taipei on Monday.

The new Aspire S7 series will feature two touch screen models including a 13-inch as well as a 11.6-inch Ultrabook. The company said that both the models will feature aluminum unibody construction and full HD screens that fold back 180 degrees.

Acer also launched two desktops, the 27-inch Aspire 7600U and the 23-inch Aspire 5600U running on the latest Windows version. The Aspire 7600U supports up to 64-point simultaneous touch that allows several users to use the device at the same time. Both the devices can be used while being placed on the desk or mounted on wall. Acer is also offering HD visuals, and Dolby surround sound in the devices.

The company also launched its first Windows 8 tablets, the Iconia W700 and Iconia W510. The W700 has a 11.6-inch full HD touch screen and allows multiple viewing angles. It also has three USB 3.0 ports for expansion. The W510 features a 10.1-inch touch screen and allows users to rotate the screen degrees. This makes the tablet suitable for making presentations, watching video, or browsing the Web. Acer is also offering a detachable keyboard dock that can be connected to the tablet.
