New Sidecar app to boost multitasking in smarphones
A new smartphone app, Sidecar app, which was launched on Tuesday for devices running on Android platfomr, iPhone and iPod Touch, is set to boost the multi tasking ability of smartphones for the users.
The app that is available as a free download in the Google Play and Apple App Stores, will allow smart-calling. Smart calling is allowing users to make calls without leaving the app with a few taps on rotary-style interface.
The users will be able to share their location on a map, photos, contacts, text messages and videos. All the features are already available but require a series of steps while the app makes it easier for the users. The app allows all the features as well as calling without closing the app.
The Sidecar company was originally established in 2011 as Socialeyes, which was focusing on a free service on Facebook allowing nine people to engage in a video chat at the same time. Socialeyes, which was launched at the Demo conference , was co-founded by former RealNetworks executives Rob Glaser and Rob Williams.
The company was closed down during summer months and was converted into Sidecar with a new emphasis on mobile. Glaser is Sidecar's chairman and Williams is now working as the company's CEO.
