Mr. Cook was responding to a long-standing question of whether Apple considers Facebook as a friend of a Foe.

He said, "We do a lot with them, and our users are using Facebook a tremendous amount. It's not like some other companies [where] we see a significant overlap in the things we do, I have always thought that the two can do more together."

Facebook has also said that it has good relationship with Apple and that the iOS is an important platform for the social networking site. The two companies earlier tried to collaborate but the partnership ended in failure as the two companies were not able to integrate iTunes with the social networking services.

Meanwhile, Facebook has announced that will now allow native applications on Apple devices like iPhone and iPad to get traffic from Facebook.

The move will now allow developers to direct tract traffic form iOS Facebook app to an external website or apps. The new step is apart of the initiative called Social App Discovery on Mobile, which was launched by Facebook in October 2011
