Kajol’s Father Shomu Mukherji Dies At 65

Sixty-five-year-old Shomu Mukherj breathed her last at his residence. He is survived by wife Tanuja and daughters Kajol and Tanisha.
Son of Shashidhar Mukherjee, the famous Bollywood film producer of the 1950s, Shomu was unwell for quite some time.
His last rites will be performed at the Santacruz crematorium at 1400 hrs, family sources said.
Shomu Mukherji is the founder of Filmalaya Studios and the youngest of three siblings. His brothers Deb and Joy were actors.
Shomu ji died on the eve of his son-in-law Ajay Devgan's directorial debut U Me Aur Hum.
But the family members stated that the film will be released as per schedule.
Shomu was a producer-director of films like "Ek Baar Muskura Do" (1972), "Nanha Shikhari" (1973), "Chaila Babu" (1977), "Fifty Fifty" (1981), "Pathar Ke Insan" (1990) and "Sangdil Sanam" (1994).
