Pak Government will restore all sacked judges within 30 days: Sharif

Islamabad, Apr. 7: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz SharifFormer Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he is absolutely confident about the coalition federal government restoring the over 60 sacked judges to their original official positions within the stipulated 30-day period that was announced in the historic Muree Declaration after the February 18 general elections.

In an interview to the Indian television channel Aaj Tak, Sharif reiterated that the ruling coalition is in the process of framing a law in Parliament for the ouster of President Pervez Musharraf. Law experts were preparing a draft resolution for presentation in the Parliament in this regard.

He said Musharraf should quit the office of president, honouring the decision of the people. Sharif also insisted that he had neither made any deal with Musharraf nor had he softened his stance towards the latter and on other issues of political importance to the PML-N.

"Musharraf stood isolated and now he would have to go, as there was no role for any autocrat in the democratic set-up," he said.

Responding to a question, he said that he would definitely be participating in the by-election.(ANI)
