Phone hacking case reopened
Scotland Yard has re-opened a case regarding the investigation of phone hacking. Metropolitan Senior Police officers have been appointed for this investigation. This case has been continuing for 2 years and also expected to cost more than millions of pounds of the taxpayers' money. A report shows that, News International has been silently passing the files evidence to the police.
This evidence includes the emails which reveal the details of communication sandwiched between the former news editor of News of the World, Ian Edmondson and a private detective. They were convicted for phone hacking.
Mr. Edmondson is now expected to be queried on phone within few weeks. Other ex-executives of the newspaper including Andy Couslon the former editor is expected to be rolled into this investigation.
Mr. Couslon has resigned from his new job as the director of David Cameron last week. He has also frequently denied about having any knowledge regarding the hacking of phone at the newspaper.
During the investigation, detectives found the cell numbers for hundreds of popular people. Now it expected that these numbers have been given to Glen Mulcaire who is a private detective.
