Jeera October contract gained Rs 110 and settled at Rs 13455 a kg as lower stocks prompted short covering, offsetting negatives from higher sowing in the up-coming season due to good monsoon rains. In India, jeera is cultivated during winter from October to December, and harvested during February-April. In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera dropped -133.35 rupees to end at 13666.65 rupees per 100 kg. The contract made intraday low of Rs 13226 a kg and high of Rs 13530 a kg. Support for jeera is at 13277 below that could see a test of 13100. Resistance is now seen at 13581 above that could see a resistance of 13708.
