JeeraJeera October contract dropped Rs 472 and settled at Rs 13335 a kg on poor local demand and hopes of higher sowing in the up-coming season due to good monsoon rains. In India, jeera is cultivated during winter from October to December, and harvested during February-April. In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera dropped -112.5 rupees to end at 13800 rupees per 100 kg. The contract made intraday low of Rs 13290 a kg and high of Rs 13782 a kg. Support for jeera is at 13156 below that could see a test of 12977. Resistance is now seen at 13648 above that could see a resistance of 13961.
