AI cancels its $1.6 million rebranding program
India's national air carrier, Air India said on Wednesday that it has canceled its revamping program. The aviation company took the decision to stop any further development in the $1.6 million worth of dealings.
The revamping was being done for the upcoming Commonwealth Games which are going to take place in Delhi in October.
Talking about this the spokesperson of Air India said, "The project with Australian branding firm Cato Purnell Partners has been canceled. The decision was taken yesterday (Tuesday) evening,"
The decision to revamp the airlines was taken so, that it can be used for the foreign tourists and in the way help the beleaguered carrier. But after a question was asked the program in the Rajya Sabha to the Union Aviation Minister, it was immediately stopped.
No 'brand revitalization' as it is called was awaited by many in the industry.
In reply to a question which Praful was asked about the program, he said that since the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) has been officially designated as the carrier for the games, there is no point in spending so much money.
