Sensex Opens Negative On Profit Booking
Today, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex belled the day after recording a loss of 63.45 points at 17,874.71 as against its last closure at 17,938.16 on Wednesday, due to profit booking seen at upper levels from local operators.
In the meantime, the broad-based Nifty opened on a steady note at 5,387.10 before allaying by nominal 4.45 points to 5,381.70.
The stocks witnessing huge selling activity were auto, realty, capital goods and PSU.
As per brokers, the top losers during the opening trade comprised HDFC Bank, HDFC, TCS, RCom, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Wipro, Cipla, NTPC and SBI.
In contrast, the major gainers' list included ACC, Tata Steel, HUL, RIL and ICICI Bank.
Even the Asian bourses were trading with pessimistic tone.
The heavyweight scrips, which declined included HDFC, which lost 1.35%, DLF down by 1.32%, BHEL fell 1.19%, HDFC Bank slipped 1.02%, RCom diminished 0.86% and Maruti Suzuki remained down by 0.92%.
